Jennifer Gearhart, LICSW, CEO, brings over three decades of visionary leadership and transformative impact in the field of mental health and substance use disorders. With a distinguished career path, Ms. Gearhart's journey as a trailblazer began as the Director of Outpatient Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders at South Bay Mental Health Center, spanning from 1990 to 2013.

 

During her illustrious tenure, Ms. Gearhart spearheaded the expansion of South Bay's footprint, inaugurating 15 cutting-edge mental health clinics across Massachusetts. Her visionary leadership didn't stop there; she orchestrated the exponential growth of the organization, elevating its team from a modest 10 employees to a formidable force of over 1000 dedicated professionals.

A true catalyst for change, Ms. Gearhart's influence extended beyond the confines of her organization. She actively participated in multiple state task forces, leveraging her expertise to shape policies and practices that elevated mental health care across Massachusetts. Notably, her pioneering work in developing best practice modules for post-hospital discharge clients garnered statewide recognition, setting new standards in care delivery.

In her most recent role as Vice President of Community Based Behavioral Health at High Point Treatment Center, Ms. Gearhart continued her legacy of innovation. Instrumental in the integration of outpatient home-based and CBHI programs, she fortified High Point's commitment to holistic care. Her strategic oversight revitalized the Community Support Program, transforming it from a deficit to a surplus, a testament to her astute financial acumen and operational prowess.

Ms. Gearhart's clinical expertise shines brightest in trauma-informed care, where her compassionate approach has touched countless lives. Holding a national certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, she embodies a steadfast dedication to empowering individuals to overcome adversity and reclaim their well-being.

Kenneth MJ Rood, LMHC, embodies a passionate commitment to comprehensive mental health care, backed by a diverse and extensive training journey. His expertise spans a myriad of specialties, including Counseling of Neurological Disorders, Brain Injury, Depression, OCD, ADHD, Behavioral Problems, Family and Individual Counseling, Grief, Neurological Emergencies, Sleep Disorders, Parkinson's, Trauma, and numerous other areas.

With a thirst for knowledge and a dedication to excellence, Kenneth's educational journey has been nothing short of remarkable. He honed his skills at esteemed institutions such as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy for Medical Technology, Curry College for Criminology and Psychology, Boston University School of Medicine for Behavioral Medicine & Counseling, UMass Boston for Science, and Harvard University for Pre-Med Science. Currently, he is on the path of academic distinction as a Doctoral Candidate at Boston University School of Medicine, specializing in the Behavioral Neuroscience and Neuropsychology Program.

 

Kenneth's hands-on experience further enriches his holistic approach to mental health. He underwent rigorous training at prestigious institutions, including Mass Mental Hospital in Boston, UMass Medical Center in Worcester, Brockton Hospital in Brockton, and specialized in Forensic Psychology at the Dr. Solomon Carter Fuller in Boston.

Driven by a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of others, Kenneth MJ Rood, LMHC, is not only a practitioner but also a lifelong learner and advocate for mental health awareness. His unwavering dedication, coupled with his diverse skill set and relentless pursuit of knowledge, sets him apart as a beacon of hope and healing in the field of mental health care.

Alfredo Chan, MD, a distinguished Psychiatrist and Director of Medication Addiction Management, renowned for his compassionate care and unwavering dedication to patient well-being. With over two decades of experience, Dr. Chan is board-certified in Adult and Addiction Psychiatry, specializing in treating individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, and addiction.

Dr. Chan's illustrious career has seen him make profound impacts across various esteemed institutions, including the Brockton VA Medical Center, High Point Treatment Center, Pembroke Hospital, and Arbour-Fuller Hospital. His journey began at the prestigious West Visayas State University, School of Medicine in the Philippines, where he laid the foundation for his illustrious career.

Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Dr. Chan completed his Psychiatric Residency training at the Brockton-West Roxbury Medical Center, Harvard Medical School Program, solidifying his expertise in the field. His comprehensive understanding and compassionate approach have earned him acclaim in the realms of Addictive Disorders, Anxiety/Mood Disorders, and Dual-Diagnosis.

 

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Chan is a beacon of hope for those struggling with mental health challenges. His holistic approach, coupled with his deep-rooted empathy, fosters an environment of healing and growth for his patients.
